Dr. Imes Chiu of the Center for Excellence Presents Crowdsourcing Application to Aggregate Training Activities

The Center for Excellence in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assistance in partnership with UH-NDPTC unveils the crisis preparedness collaboration tool that gives a crowdsourced aggregate picture of disaster management and first response training events in the Asia-Pacific region using the Ushahidi platform. Ushahidi is a global non-profit technology company with origins in Kenya. It develops open source crowdsourcing and mapping software used by disaster responders, human rights activists, conservationists, and election monitor. The CFE-NDPTC joint project aims to help planners and funders make faster and more accurate decisions about crisis preparedness training. It also improves coordination between disaster management training organizations, creating a strong and effective community of disaster responders.
