Evacuation for Volcano Hazards by Dr. Karl Kim
Dr. Karl Kim, NDPTC's Executive Director, will be presenting on "Evacuation for Volcano Hazards" on February 28, 2023, from 10 AM - 11 AM (HST). Click here to join theWebinar
The passcode is 590589
The presentation is part of the CONVERSE Webinar Series hosted by the NSF-funded Community Network for Volcanic Eruption Response (CONVERSE) program led by Dr. Tobias Fischer at the University of New Mexico. The Purpose of the NSF-Funded CONVERSE Center is to enable, organize and focus the collaboration of US academic researchers, the USGS, NASA, the Smithsonian, and foreign entities involved in volcano science. The goal of the enhanced collaboration is to advance our ability to monitor the unrest and run-up to volcanic eruptions and once an eruption occurs, to collect critical data and samples to develop next-generation physical/chemical models of volcanoes and to understand processes of magma generation, transfer and eruption.
Dr. Bruce Houghton, NDPTC's Science Director is a member of the CONVERSE Steering Committee.
