Maui County Receives NDPTC's Community Resilience Award

Mr. Jim Buika from the County of Maui's Planning Department accepts the award from Dr. Karl Kim, NDPTC's Executive Director
At the 2026 Pacific Risk Management ʻOhana (PRiMO) Conference, NDPTC awarded the County of Maui its Community Resilience Award. The award honors individuals and agencies that have demonstrated a commitment to resilience in the face of disasters, with a focus on learning and transformative processes to adapt. The award was graciously accepted by Jim Buika, Coastal Resources Planner in the Planning Department, on behalf of Mayor Richard Bissen.
